| Abstract: | This paper proposes a job rotation methodology for noise exposure control in manufacturing systems, with task skill requirements. A situation where management needs workers to work overtime to meet demand is considered. An integer programming is formulated, to simultaneously minimize the labor cost and to reduce the noise exposure levels of workers to a safe level. The use of the model is illustrated by applying the model to prepare job rotation plan over a 10-day period. The labor cost associated with different overtime policies is investigated. |
